Congratulations to Kellie Nicholas, Interior Designer at A-Line Designs, LLC in Edmond, Oklahoma—Best of the Best competition finalist.
We used the word “goop” in the title of this article because few words describe the appearance of this room better before its renovation took place. There are several meanings for the word, but the best one suited for this kitchen’s pre-makeover ambiance can be best understood in the phrase, “something unpleasant.” So when Kellie and the team at A-Line Designs were introduced to the dark, rustic, setting of this pre-historic kitchen, they welcomed the challenge of transforming its dusky appearance into a stylized stunner.
“We were up to the challenge. Our clients wanted a mix of their own individual styles—both of which were opposite to one another,” added Nicholas.
A balance between two styles—traditional and modern—were the distinct flairs required to be equalized in the design process. To satisfy the “bling” factor, Nicholas and the team augmented their design with Jeffrey Court’s Droplet—Diamond, a glass mosaic that vibrantly pulled both styles together and brilliantly converged with other kitchen elements. A particular detail that might have otherwise been overlooked, the team suggested wrapping the inlay of the kitchen window to add “bang” to its overall appeal. And while the kitchen now boasts beautifully coordinated cabinets, hardware, and countertops, Nicholas added, “The backsplash brought everything together.”
While this was Nicholas’ first time selecting a Jeffrey Court tile offering, it was her client’s enthusiasm toward their newly remodeled kitchen that convinced her to make Jeffrey Court a go-to option for future designs.
