Simple Elegance—Kitchen Renovation

Written by Jeffrey Court | October 26, 2016

Congratulations to Cat Noyes, Designer, at Da Vinci Marble in San Carlos, California—Best of the Best competition finalist.

It’s the only time it happened during the entry phase of our Best of the Best competition—when Jeffrey Court representatives contacted Da Vinci Marble to congratulate them for their fabulous entry being selected as a finalist, no one at Da Vinci Marble stepped forward to claim their entry. After doing some digging, it was discovered that their Jeffrey Court sales representative, Francisco Pavon, surprised Da Vinci Marble by submitting stunning images featuring the completion of a recently designed kitchen. A quick look at our contest rules revealed that the entry was indeed a valid one. Eventually, Cat Noyes, designer at Da Vinci Marble in San Carlos, California emerged as our finalist and the Best of the Best competition riddle was solved.

The kitchen in this single story, ranch-style home was in desperate need of a remodel. When an outdated 1960s kitchen no longer met the homeowner's functionalities, a kitchen transformation became a priority. According to Noyes, “They wanted something clean and minimal with high contrast off their countertops.” Noyes saw only a photo of a gutted kitchen when initially approached for design consultation at Da Vinci Marble’s showroom. The homeowners were originally interested in a darker backsplash however, Noyes suggested softer hued material to add brilliance to their kitchen. The homeowners agreed, the design process concluded, and the renovation process which began in February ended in May.

Embellished as the backdrop of this vibrant kitchen is Jeffrey Court’s Bella Mare—Trikora, which spells high contrast—exactly matching the homeowner’s taste for clean, minimal design. Included as key design features are the kitchen’s unique range hood and stainless steel range cooktop.

In reflection of the design process, Noyes concluded that, “They were extremely happy—thrilled [with the outcome]! They said that if it wasn’t for us, they would have gone darker and probably wouldn’t be as happy with it…” The end result exceeded her customer’s expectations as their excitement prompted them to share these fantastic images which are now finalists in our Best of the Best competition.

Our Best of the Best campaign is a competition highlighting user submitted entries of Jeffrey Court tile installations.
