To create an impression is easy… creating an impression that lasts is a challenge. One that Jim Ries, owner of Village Home Stores gave a lot of thought to when planning his new showroom.

Located in Geneseo, Illinois, Village Home Stores prides itself in offering quality appliances, flooring, lighting and more. When it came time to expand his showroom, he had not one but two Jeffrey Court tile offerings that were must-haves for his showroom. Taking his inspiration from elements of the transitional farmhouse, Ries not only created a show-stopping showroom arrangement, he created the perfect selfie backdrop. 

That’s right, our June semi-finalist earned a ticket to the Design Nationals' final round and, coincidentally, praise from customers who show their appreciation of the space by taking reflective selfies using the beautifully designed showroom backsplash!

“We love the variety of styles offered by Jeffrey Court,” said Ries. “We also love that the samples come grouted—which helps our customers be able to visualize what the tile will look like in their home.”

Utilizing Yesterday Glass and District Brick offerings from the Chapter 12—Ashland & Halsted collection, Ries began the showroom expansion behind-the-scenes allowing him to make one big impact. 

“With such a large, new space to select finishes for, we didn’t want to commit to just one surface throughout. One of the key elements to a successful transitional farmhouse design is texture and Jeffrey Court’s tile allowed us to add a lot of interest and texture by using them,” concluded Ries. 

With his showroom piece making its own debut, we are excited about this show-stopping showroom and look forward to seeing selfies at Village Home Stores with this beautiful reflective backsplash for years to come. 

The 2017 Design Nationals is a competition highlighting user submitted entries of Jeffrey Court tile installations. It is an opportunity for Dealers, Distributors, and Showrooms to showcase their best work to see how they rank amongst the industry’s top designers.
